Natcher Cup Unveiled
On August 26, 2016, the Daviess County and Bowling Green-Warren County Bar Associations will hold the inaugural Natcher Cup.
The match will be held “away” this year at Owensboro Country Club, and the winner will take home the soon-to-be-storied Natcher Cup. The trophy was donated by Darren Mexic and the law office of Debra Broz.
Bar officials hope to make the Natcher Cup an annual event with one Bar Association traveling to the other’s city in alternating years. Thus, the Natcher Cup is set to be in Bowling Green in 2017.
The first tee time is tentatively set for 9:00 a.m. The format has yet to be finalized, but it will most likely be a two-person team, best-ball scramble, with a team from each bar in each foursome. The winning team in each foursome will receive a match point. Most points wins the Natcher Cup.
The cost will be $58.00 for each golfer, including cart.
Sponsors are being sought for food and drink and possibly a post-round reception players and anyone else who wants to participate but doesn’t play golf. More details to come on that.
If you would like to play, please respond to Lauren Marley (lmarley@elpolaw.com) by July 15, 2016. If you have a handicap, please provide it to Lauren. If not, include an estimate of your typical score, and if you don't play often enough to have an estimate, indicate that as well. These numbers will be used to make even teams.
If you want to play with someone in particular, tell Lauren. Otherwise you will be paired randomly. If there are particular Daviess County golfers you would like to play against, please indicate that as well.
I know the members of the DCBA are very excited about this event, and it would be great if we also had a strong turnout. Please consider attending even if you don’t golf.
